Prosthodontics is a branch of dentistry that deals with restore of appearance and functionality of missing teeth by using fixed or removable dental restorations. Prosthetic dental treatments are performed for functional and cosmetic reasons. They are designed to restore the natural look and the function of teeth, gum and other parts of the face. In addition, it is a branch that deals with dental joint problems. It provides solutions with both fixed and removable prostheses for aesthetic losses, eating and speech difficulties caused by missing teeth.<\/p>\n

\u201cF\u201d and \u201cV\u201d sounds are formed by the contact of the lower lip and upper incisors.<\/p>\n

The presence of dentures does not mean that we should pay less attention to our oral hygiene. On the contrary, we need to pay more attention.<\/p>\n

Instructions to be followed for the care of removable prostheses:<\/p>\n

Removable prostheses must be removed and cleaned after meals. The mouth should be rinsed with water and the prosthesis should be washed with water.<\/p>\n

At the end of the day, the prosthesis should be cleaned with a brush. Tablets dissolved in water should be used daily for cleaning.<\/p>\n

Agents such as bleach should not be used in the cleaning of dentures. These types of chemicals roughen the surface of the prosthesis and cause more stain retention. It also causes the prosthesis to become more fragile by disrupting its chemical structure.<\/p>\n
